Blanc de noirs (50% meunier/ 50% pinot noir) de Vrigny
240 bottles available

A few years ago Guillaume replaced a cuvée called Chemin des Chappes with a new cuvée he named Bossa Nova. It started with the same base as Chemin des Chappes, namely Pinot Noir from Grands Chemins and Meunier from Chappes to which he adds Meunier from the parcel of Les Prières. I asked Guillaume about the inspiration of the name and he replied thusly, "There are 3 reasons for the name — The first : when I was finishing the blend for the cuvée, I did not have a name, but in my head I was hearing "Girl from Ipanema" by Astrud Gilberto, and it is a classic of Bossa Nova music.

Second reason : in tasting the first bottles, I found there was something similar between the fruit and the sensation of acidity in the mouth with the rhythm of a warm Bossa Nova tune, stripped down and all in softness. Third reason : Bossa Nova means "new wave" and I think that my cuvée is representative of the "new wave" of champagnes : presenting the terroir, a vinification simple and natural, little or no dosage, while all the while remaining accessible and convivial."
