McLaren Vale, Australia

Aramis is blessed with a very special vineyard site just 2km from the Gulf St Vincent in South Australia’s McLaren Vale. While in high demand from some of the region’s most prestigious brands, they select and hold back a number of the best parcels of fruit to  create their own wines, which offer outstanding value for money and are well worth seeking out.

The Bastion Shiraz is an ethereal wine of both poise and power.  After spending nearly two years in French oak barrels it has developed considerable complexity with a tantalising balance of opulent fruit and savoury notes.  Heady aromas of blackberry and chocolate are underpinned by subtle mocha, violet and earthy characters, along with structured, fine-grained tannins.  Enjoy now or, if you can bear to wait, for many years to come.

Color: Deep crimson with red hues, showcasing its rich extraction.

Nose: Aromas of ripe blackberries and plums, complemented by subtle earthy notes and hints of toasted spice.

Palate: The palate is enveloped with dark berry fruit and spice, intermingling with nuances of chocolate and liquorice.

Finish: A rich, well-rounded finish with fine, structural tannins that provide depth and persistence.

Craftsmanship

Ideal for pairing with grilled meats, hearty stews, or aged cheeses. Its structure and depth also make it suitable for cellaring, allowing the wine to evolve and develop further complexity over time.
